No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to discover whatever he possibly could about poker. He routinely told his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the detrimental comments from others destroy his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.
He began competing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching experience and coming away with a win was not a common thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he destroyed many of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an eternal love for poker. He states that he’s learning every single day and is very humble about his achievements. He knows he makes errors every single game of poker and always aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
