Caribbean Poker Protocols and Pointers

[ English ]

Online poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous types on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to vingt-et-un than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the casino rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the house and of course all of the other players attain 5 cards each. After you have seen your hand and the bank’s initial card, you must either make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original bet, which means that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantly to the dealer. After the wager comes the showdown. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, including a sum equal to the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the bank’s hand. The house pays money equal to your wager and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
