The value of Poker Seating
Texas Holdem is all about gamblers and seating. All rounded Hold’em enthusiasts agree that position in no limit Holdem is fundamentally important. Showing your hole cards in last spot could be much more profitable than in early poker spot. This is because much more data is gathered prior to acting.
e.g., I played in a $1-$2 no limit cash match at a local poker room. I bumbled in with 2, 9 unsuited on the croupier marker, so I could see a bit of excitement. Flop arrived A-A-4. A gambler in early position laid a $15 bet. 2 individuals fold and it was my turn to act. I should have folded, but his game play appear to be a tiny bit off. I labeled this player as a weak-tight player, and typically if he had the best hand he would only check, so I called.
The turn showed with a 7, making it A-A-4-7. My opposer made a further bet of $20. I deliberated for a while, but decided to re-raise a further $30thirty dollars on top of his twenty dollars. He folds and I take the pot.
Betting at late position allows you an insight into where you sit by watching how gamblers carry oneself and wager. On the flip side, players at starting position might use their poker spot to check-raise the last seated competitors and trap them later at the end. In Holdem, each ends, last and starting should be played carefully.
