Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker player on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover every little thing he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the detrimental comments from other people destroy his dream of being one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

He started competing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated a number of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and a continuing passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s learning every day and is very abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders every single game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
