Distracting Players
Do you ever acquire that itch? The itch to bet, to head to the nearest betting house, to come across a high stakes game of Hold’em, to sit at a Blackjack table for hours on end. I really like that itch. And I love to scratch it.
I also love to watch individuals gamble. No two poker faces seem equal. When I bet I like to consider I put on a poker face which is impassable. But I know I’ve specific actions. For 1, the only time I smoke is when I bet on poker or Black jack. And then I chain smoke. But I smoke whether I am succeeding or losing, whether I have a excellent hand or bad.
I once bet within a weekly poker game. The casino game was generally five card draw. There was a gentleman who bet with us just about every week who usually wore a hat. Years later I ran into him in the bar in Philly and we had a beverage. I asked him if he had been aware of all those activities he produced or if they were unconscious. He informed me that each single thing he did at a poker table was intentional. He said that everybody is usually checking out everybody else’s poker face. They are attempting to detect the the tell.
So his technique was to give them lots to assume about. His reasoning was if they have been pondering about him choosing a piece of fuzz off his vest and what it meant they certain weren’t thinking about their cards.
